About our Coffee Scrub: We proudly use Café Campesino Coffee-A Fair Trade Company, in our Coffee Sugar Scrub. This coffee is organically grown in Ethiopia, which helps support the Fair Trade Organization. We also add coffee extract, ground coffee beans and an extra shot of caffeine powder to give your skin a real jolt of energy. Our coffee scrub does not contain fragrance. the real coffee that is used in this scrub makes it naturally scented.
Scrubs should play a mandatory part in your weekly skin care routine. Sugar scrubs help to remove left over toxins that your skin has secreted, stimulate your skin, helps slough off dead skin cells to prepare for new skin growth, and gives your skin a wonderful, new-skin glow. These sugar scrubs are rich in natural ingredients-your skin will be in for a real treat.
What are the benefits of using Coffee Sugar Scrub? Caffeine has also been found to be an effective antioxidant, scavenging OH radicals, thus producing another mechanism for its anticancer properties. In addition to these clinical surveys, coffee has been used for centuries to detoxify and de-stress. The Japanese soak in large vats of coffee grounds, expressly for this reason. What we know for sure, in addition to its protective abilities, is that the natural caffeine in coffee will reduce and heal acne breakouts, with continued use it will fade age spots and reduce wrinkles on the skin, and it calms skin allergies.
What is Fair Trade? Fair Trade guarantees producers a better price for their product than what they would earn under conventional trade. By providing direct trade links between consumers and producers.
Fair Trade companies promote social justice in a manner that socially and economically empowers farmers. Fair Trade is not charity; it provides a market-based approach to increasing small farmer self-sufficiency.
Why Organic? Organic food is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers. But this is only part of the story. Organic farmers also enrich or feed the soil with compost and manure.
They work in harmony with nature for the long-term fertility of the soil. Rich, alive soil makes for strong, hearty plants that are naturally more resistant to pests and disease. Farmers also plant flowers and herbs in their fields that have been proven to discourage pests. Many farmers also feed birds and bring in "friendly" bugs to help protect the crops from damage. Organically grown foods don't endanger the quality of the surrounding life, water, or air.
A product cannot be labeled as "certified organically grown" until a farmer 's land has been chemical-free for at least three years. Certification is done by an impartial agency.
Recycling Your Coffee Tips:
Did you know that coffee is extremely beneficial for your plants? The good news is, that you can use coffee grinds as a soil additive by adding dried coffee grinds to soil and turning over soil then mulching.
Many plants especially like coffee grinds mixed into their base soil. Plants like roses and vegetables like tomatoes will do well with coffee grinds. Also plants that like acid soil such as gardenias, azaleas, etc. will also like coffee grinds.
Do you ever have left over coffee sitting in your coffee pot? Well, now it doesn’t have to go down the drain. Here are two different ways to put that left over coffee to good use:
Hot Coffee can be sprayed directly on most insects and will kill them without damaging the plants. When you spray with the hot coffee, water is cooled down upon contact with the air enough to damage the insects but not the plants. Insects require only a small change in the body temp to die. Hot coffee will also damage fungus spores upon contact.

SUPER YUMMY ICED COFFEE DRINK
I am a huge Starbucks Fan, but I live so far away from any Starbucks. Seems strange because they are conveniently located on every corner now-a-days. Not if you live in the boonies. So, with my culinary background, I was able to come up with my own iced coffee recipe.
You can use an espresso machine or a regular coffee maker so this. (I use my coffee maker)
I fill the coffee maker with water to the 2 cup line. I add about 3 tablespoons of Raw sugar in the glass coffee container (so that it dissolves when the coffee is dispensing). I fill the entire filter with "House Blend" Ground Coffee Beans
Once the coffee is done, you fill a 16 ounce glass with crushed ice cubes. I like to add a teaspoon of vanilla or caramel coffee syrup to the glass. Then, you want to add powdered coffee creamer (about 1/2 cup) to the coffee/sugar mixture and stir well.
Pour the coffee over halfway full in your 16 oz drinking glass. Then fill to the top with either half & half, soy milk or rice milk (I completely love soy milk). Top with whipped cream. You can sprinkle with cinnamon, chocolate or caramel syrup (the kind you get for ice cream) and viola you have your own iced coffee drink.
